About & get involved

The story behind the sessions, and how to lend a hand.

Our story

Music Heals Minds is a nonprofit dedicated to Alzheimer's, dementia, and traumatic brain injury recovery. Professional musicians lead interactive sessions that use singing, rhythm, and gentle prompting to help people reconnect — with memories, with feeling, and with each other.

What began as in-person sessions for memory care communities across Los Angeles County has grown to include free virtual sessions open to anyone with a Zoom connection, now offered every month in English, Korean, Mandarin, and Spanish.

Volunteer with us

We're always looking for volunteers who can help host a session, translate materials, or welcome newcomers in Korean, Mandarin, Spanish, or English. Musical experience is welcome but not required — a warm, patient presence matters just as much.

Make a donation

Every session is free for participants because of donor support. A gift of any size helps us reach more people and keep our virtual program running in all four languages.
